SPITI & KINNAUR ROAD TRIP

Rudyard Kipling perfectly describes SPITI “As a world within a world… and surely the Gods live here”. Tucked away from civilization, rests a surreal mountain-scape, Spiti, is a treat for all the travel lovers.

A drive through the beautiful barren landscapes of the Mighty Himalayas is the biggest draw of the valley. Another highlight of Spiti is the magnificently rich cultural past that is still alive in the ancient Gompas (monasteries) of the region and the enlightened monks that reside therein.

The ideal time to visit Spiti is from May to October, when the valley is the most accessible. It is a time when the sun shines high over the valley, which is not merely a destination, but a journey through melancholy roads, eloquent villages, shimmering rivers, and mighty mountains. A world within another world, indeed.
